Kim Min-seon (25, Uijeongbu City Hall) secured the bronze medal in the women's 500m first race at the 2024-2025 ISU Speed Skating World Cup season opener.

On November 22 (KST) in Nagano, Japan, Kim competed in Division A of the women’s 500m race, finishing with an impressive time of 37.93 seconds. Out of 20 participants, her performance earned her a well-deserved third place and a spot on the podium.

Starting from the outside lane in the fourth pair, Kim clocked the fourth-fastest split in the first 100m at 10.49 seconds. She then accelerated through the remainder of the race, maintaining her speed and securing a strong third-place finish.

This medal adds to her bronze in the same event at the 2024 ISU Four Continents Championships on November 16. With back-to-back podium finishes, Kim is showing a promising start to her 2024-2025 season.

In the same race, Lee Na-hyun (Korea National Sport University) finished 17th with a time of 38.59 seconds.

Later in the men’s 500m Division A race, Kim Jun-ho (Gangwon Provincial Office) delivered a commendable performance, finishing fifth among 20 competitors with a time of 34.63 seconds.
